Medical-device case study
Magneto
Hardware electronics and embedded software, end to end, for a catheter-based thrombectomy device that removes blood clots from the vascular system.
- Electronics + embedded, end to end
- Schematic to manufacturable board
- Hardware + software, one team
The device
Magneto Thrombectomy Solutions develops innovative devices that remove blood clots from the vascular system. Its catheters combine large-bore aspiration with a proprietary electric-attachment technology that grips the clot, for conditions such as pulmonary embolism and ischemic stroke.
What we built
The full electronics and embedded stack, from first requirements to a production-ready device, with the documentation a regulatory submission needs.
Hardware & electronics
- Electronics designed from start to finish: requirements, schematic and board design, and PCB layout.
- Production and board bring-up.
Embedded software
- The entire embedded software on the MCU, designed and built from start to finish.
- A full unit-test suite written to meet the requirements.
PC tools for QA
- PC tools that let QA load parameters onto the device and activate it in different ways.
- Real-time readout from the device, plus download of its full log history.
Documentation & compliance
- HRS, SRS, SDD and HDD, written for regulatory submission.
- Traceability matrix and test documentation, kept consistent across hardware and software.
